I recently did a session with a client who was seeking, in part, insight around health and wellness. Interestingly enough, when I completed my channeled meditation ahead of our session, the first thing that I heard was, “support the immune system.” As we discussed this in greater detail, Continue reading “Vulnerability”
All winter long

guess what we heard!

When I was inspired by the Sanskrit text I found years ago (see my “Energy Flowing Through, not From” post), I found a second phrase that resonated very powerfully for me: “Matrika Shakti.” Remember that childhood chant, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”? This is completely and absolutely inaccurate. “Matrika Shakti” explains that words and thoughts each carry a specific energy and resonance. Our lives follow the path that is formed by these energies through the thoughts we think, the words we say and the text we write/type. Therefore, it is critically important to be conscious of what words we use, for their energies are far more influential than we may recognize. Continue reading “We Follow Our Words”
About 8 or 9 years ago, I ran across some Sanskrit text that perfectly captured an important lesson from Spirit that I wanted to remember daily. Last week I googled this same text trying to find the original source that I had previously discovered, but I was not successful. So I’m going purely from memory here. The text is this word: “Aparaphrapha,” and my memory of its meaning is a reminder that energy should flow THROUGH me and not FROM me.
The lesson for me with this word is to be continually reminded that I am not alone, Continue reading “Energy Flowing Through, not From”
I give thanks to you, Ancestors, for the vision, wisdom and guidance you have shared so generously throughout 2017. I am grateful for the passion you have fueled within us and the encouragement you have offered so that we could continuously rediscover hope and helpful resources in times when we felt discouraged and uncertain.
As we step in to this new Nature year, I ask that you stick close and continue to guide our paths so that we can progress on our soul’s journey with laughter, delight and gratitude.

Very recently, a client contacted me for help. Her retired service dog, a 15 year old Pomeranian I’ll call Squiggy had wandered off and had been missing for two days. While beloved pets who have crossed over to Spirit will sometimes come forward in the sessions I do, animal communication is not something I feel is in my wheelhouse. However when I had previously worked with this client in session, Squiggy popped in to join our discussion. At the time, I was quite amused by his bright, big energy and how he just butted right in to the session. Having connected with Squiggy at that time, I very much wanted to see if I could “find” him again. Continue reading “A New Experience”
“May the blessing of light be on you, light without and light within. May the blessed sun shine on you and warm your heart till it glows like a great peat fire, so that the stranger may come and warm himself at it, and also a friend.
And may the light shine out of the two eyes of you, Continue reading “Blessings for the Upcoming New Year”
“It is our quiet time.
We do not speak, because the voices
are within us.
It is our quiet time.
We do not walk, because the earth is all within us.
It is our quiet time.
We do not dance, because the music has lifted us to a place where the spirit is.
It is our quiet time.
We rest with all of nature. We wake when the seven sisters wake.
We greet them in the sky over the opening of the kiva.”

I will forever be grateful for what I learned from my dear teacher and friend, Sobonfu Somé. She spent her entire adult life traveling throughout the world sharing the powerful teachings of ritual and spiritual wisdom from her village in Burkina Faso, West Africa. One of the many things she taught me is about the 5 elements that the Dagara people of her homeland honor and seek to have in balance in all aspects of their lives. The last digit of a year is what indicates the element for that year. Your year of birth indicates what your primary element would be in this tradition: Continue reading “From Fire to Nature”
